US already had lost decade in stock market
Financial Crisis started in 2007 and it had already cost US a lot. Poverty levels have shot up and unemployment is at alarmingly high point. All these factors have affected the US stock returns at large. But the problems in US are not just post crisis effect but some fundamental weakening of US economy which went unnoticed or was always shadowed by bull runs that followed every downturn. If we look at last 10 years return of SPX, we will find that return has been negative. I would call it THE LOST DECADE for US. Such losses by broad index also confirms that US businesses have been loosing the influence they once had over the world.
Now with internal and external vagaries denouncing US leadership, there is a sudden need to catapult this much touted economy of the century.
Japan has seen this phenomenon for more than 20 years now and has now enters into third lost decade. We surely don’t want world’s two largest economies, out of three, to be in dark decades. This would eventually resist the growth of entire globe.
